WHAT TO DO IF YOU'RE NOT DATING:
******************************************************************
If there's no dating until you are ready for marriage, then what do you
do?
ARE YOU NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE ANY FUN??
Of course you can!!! Good, clean, honest fun!!!
Enjoy the company of many good friends. Cultivate
friendships with members of the same sex and the opposite sex. Go
out in groups and have a great time. Get out and do things!
While you are young, enjoy the gift of your SINGLENESS!
This is a gift from God and chances are it will be for a very limited time
in your life . . . use your time well to develop your talents and spend
your energy and time in serving the Lord.
The best preparation you can give to your future spouse is to spend your
time today forming yourself to be all that God created you to be.
Making out with a girlfriend today really won’t do much to help you be a
better husband someday. Pining over a boy, waiting for him to call,
really won’t do much to help you be a better wife someday!
Spend your time wisely . . . the GIFT of singleness is an immeasurable
gift from God, NOT TO BE WASTED AWAY on short-term relationships.
These dating relationships, even when free of physical intimacy, suck up
an awful lot of emotional energy and distract young people from doing what
God intends them to do right now in their life. GROWING and MATURING into
the people he has called them to be.
Josh Harris, in his book, I Kissed Dating Goodbye, reminds
young people not to spend their time feeling sorry for themselves.
The tendency is to say: “God, look what I’m giving up
for you!”
The reality is: “God, look what a gift you’ve given to
me!"
It’s the gift of your singleness . . . DON’T MISS OUT
ON IT! Because that is something you would someday regret!
